THE MACHINE AND AUTOMATION LAB IS LOCATED IN VIGEVANO
IN A NEW DEDICATED AREA WITHIN ATOM PREMISES WHERE MOST OF THE ATOMLAB ACTIVITIES ARE ALSO BASED;
IT IS PRIMARILY DEDICATED TO THE INNOVATION OF THE SHOE MANUFACTURING PROCESS.
The lab hosts a wealth of different equipment including automated handling and processing systems covering most of the assembly steps of shoe making,
involving both robots and workers and including also new generation robots to explore the paradigm of human – robot cooperation.
This is the infrastructure where research on SCADA systems, advanced robotics and RFID tagging are performed; it is also the place where future man – machine interfaces are investigated
